A Good Clear Photo is Key

Take the photo outdoors, in good natural light.

Try for eye level - not from above, looking down.
-
Avoid back lighting or too much shading on the face

If there’s a particular look that defines your pooch, try to capture that

The Eyes — if need be, take a close up photo of the eyes.

Take collars off.
-
Consider having two people during the photo shoot : one with treats, the other with the camera.
-
Take as many as possible and then choose a couple of favourites.
-
A good, clear photo is key to the process.
-
Be sure the pooch is hydrated - not panting.
